The right-of-occupancy system combines the security of owning your own home with the flexibility of renting. In a right-of-occupancy home you pay a right-of-occupancy fee, which is only 15 % of the apartment’s purchase value, and monthly residence charge, which is below the general rent level.
Right-of-occupancy combines the flexibility of rental homes and the permanence of owner-occupied homes. You only pay 15% of the acquisition value of the apartment and a monthly maintenance charge.

In order to apply for a right-of-occupancy home, you need a queue number, which you can acquire from The Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (Ara) .
If you want to make changes to your previously submitted right-of-occupancy application, you can do so by editing the application.
